The crab conspiracy!

Well, on Thursday I met up with a lovely old primary school best mate of mine David! He came all the way down from Hagbourne to pay me a visit. I hadn’t seen him for 6 years! Was a lovely glorious sunny day, which we spent at Mudeford Quay, with a picnic and a spot of crab fishing! So I thought it would be lovely to share the day with you 🙂

P.S The picture quality may be a bit…. not so good.

Me and David

Me and David

To start the day off, my good friend David drove down from Didcot/Hagbourne (in Oxfordshire), to come to New Milton/New Forest (Hampshire). Now that, is a brilliant friendship right there! To travel like 2-3hours to see a friend, that’s pretty awesome and kind hearted, and I really appreciate it, especially as he is like the only one from my primary school who still talks to me, and was literally like my best friend growing up.
Once David arrived at his destination (my house), we had to figure out what we could do for the rest of the day. Beach? Walks in the Forest? Exploring the town I live in? We eventually decided on…. Crab fishing in Mudeford. (don’t worry, we don’t actually kill and eat the crabs – just annoy them by putting them in a bucket).

Once in Mudeford, David and his Mum had brought with them a picnic, so we had a spot o’ lunch, where David gave me a bottle of the best Cider I have ever had! From France I do believe? It was lush. Thank you! 🙂

Picnic Time

Picnic Time

Next on the agenda was to buy our equipment – meaning we had to deal with fish heads and… yeah. Off to the fish mongers to get our net and bait, and then buy a bucket! Which we then had to try and figure out how to get it filled with water. David’s Mum saved the day at this point!
Also I’d like to mention, about 5 people have told me that using Bacon is a far better idea than using fish to catch crabs cos you catch more. Yeah, that kinda makes sense cos surely feeding fish to a crab is like cannibalism?

We literally caught mostly seaweed. There was just this rythm of “throw in bait…. wait…. bring up seaweed… pick off seaweed….throw in bait…. wait… bring up seaweed… pick off seaweed….throw in bait”… that was all we did… until… oh yes! We caught one!
Then it fell off.
Luckily though I just dunked the bait back in a we brought up another one. This crab dude, we literally quite angry he’d been caught. We named him Gary!

Gary

Gary

Needless to say, we didn’t catch anything else apart from seaweed and Gary. All the same, it was great fun and was a joy to see a friend who has stuck with me, through all my madness since I was 6 years old! 12 whole years!
We’ve both been through a lot… along the lines of depression, I guess that’s what we’ve got. I’ve already written a blog on who I partly blame, kinda fits seeing a life time friend also feels the same as me. David, if you’re reading, I’m always a;ways here for you – no matter how you’re feeling. You’re a great guy, honestly you are just an amazing human being, so make sure you remember that.

Before my emotions set in… let’s move on.
You’re probably wondering why I titled this blog as “The Crab Conspiracy”. Well, as me and David were fishing for crabs, David came up with this brilliant idea, that all the crabs know what we are doing, and are attaching pieces of seaweed to our line, so that’s all we catch, BUT sometimes one crab just forgets to let go as they are attaching the pieces of seaweed, and as they are brought to the surface they literally just let go! – I swear this conspiracy is a real thing.

Time to say Goodbye to David now.

Thank you so much for playing! I had a great day, very pleased that the weather was on our side as well. Sorry, I’ve only just got round to writing this. We shall have to meet up again in the future and make sure we don’t lose contact!
I want to still be reminiscing about our primary school years when we are 35.

Thank you again! For everything 🙂

Brian Jones (45 years ago)

45 years ago today, this world lost one of its greatest musicians, Brian Jones. The founding member of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world; The Rolling Stones.

closeup

Brian Jones was found dead at the bottom of his swimming pool on the 3rd July 1969. His death was ruled as misadventure. Some others have different theories. What you believe, is your choice. Sadly, the only people who knew the truth are dead or have died since the event.

I’m very protective over all The Rolling Stones, but Brian… it seems to reach a whole other level. I can’t fully explain my feelings, without sounding insane; seeing as I wasn’t alive or born when he died.
I became a fan of this magical rock band at the age of 6, then at the age of 7 I discovered a man, a man who I did not know or recognise, yet he was actually in the band I held so dear to me, it was Brian. I decided to read a little, turns out this man with the most beautiful and perfect blonde shiny hair, was in fact the founding member of The Stones, but had tragically died at the age of 27.

Since then, I have seem to have never stopped searching for answers. Why did he die?
As I said, there are many reasons… drink, drugs, depression, or was it something more sinister? Murder perhaps?
I believe he was murdered, all facts and evidence points to that conclusion, but of course this is one of the biggest ‘who dunnits’ in history. Was it Mick & Keith? Not wanting to share their money with Brian after firing him, explains why they didn’t attend his funeral? Did Frank Thorogood, his builder, drown him after an argument over money? Or was there more people involved, was he actually injected with a lethal serum?

Anyway, I just want to talk about what Brian means to me. Conspiracy theories can come another time.
Brian, in my mind is the most important member of the band. Without him we would not experienced such exciting music, which is still just as fresh as the day they recorded it. He created a band which was lasted over 50 years, and the entire world still loves and adores them.
Even though, I was not around to of experienced their fame from the start, I still feel as if I miss Brian. Like there’s a sense of loss somehow. I wish I could of known him.

I think Brian, is the perfect man, and honestly, if you’re not Brian Jones, I’m not really that interested. He’s funny, beautiful, flirtatious, caring, inspiring, unique and talented. What more could you ask for!

Brian, is you are up there with the rest of the members of the 27 club; know that I love and care about you, and get upset about your passing even though I wasn’t around to understand the impact. I hope that one day I’m able to visit your grave, in fact I will make that a promise. I would also like to visit Cotchford Farm, but that may not be as easy. You will always be the main member of The Stones to me, and lets face it, you are the most beautiful out of them all, and your beauty will remain with you forever.

RIP Brian x

The Fault In Our Stars

**Possible Spoilers**
I’ve recently read the book The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, and have also seen the movie which is out in cinema’s now. I’m hoping to go again this week. If you haven’t already read this book, go out and buy it and read it. If you haven’t seen the film, go and watch the film. I’ve given the book to my Mum to read, and she’s only 3 chapters in and is loving it! Image

I guess I should start with some facts right? John Green is an author of course and has other books published such as ‘Paper Towns’ and ‘Looking For Alaska’ which I’ve just purchased. John Green is also a YouTuber, and is apart of the VlogBrothers, I believe he also started Vidcon?

It’s so hard to describe this book without spoiling the whole story line.
For starters, this book has been out for ages! I knew it was going crazy and everything, but it didn’t appeal to me, I didn’t want to buy it or read it (I’m not a big reader anyway, but I’m trying to read more), until this year. I was having my braces tightened for the first time, and I went into WHSmith and I saw this ‘Fault In Our Stars’ book, and thought “I guess I might as well get it”, I didn’t. Instead I waited until 2 months later and got it from Waterstones. I read the first page and thought “ooh, it’s written in first person. Brilliant” (I generally only like reading books where a character or person is talking directly to you.) So I bought this book, took it home. Finished the book I was reading and started reading this new one. Oh my god. Why did I not read this or buy this before!
It is so good!

Now for the story line **possible spoilers**, here’s the blurb:
“Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.”

You’re either thinking “this sounds interesting” or thinking exactly what I was “oh god, a book all about cancer, how depressing, I’ll give that a miss then”. Wrong.
Yes, the story does revolve around Teenagers with Cancer, but it tells the story from the point of view from the patient “That’s the thing about pain. It demands to be felt”. If you want basics without any spoilers, two teenagers meet and fall in love. Go and either read the book or film to find out the rest. You will not be disappointed and you will for sure take something away from it, that will leave you really thinking about life and cancer for a long time.

“I’m a grenade, and at some point I’m going to blow up and I would like to minimize the casualties, okay?”. I can promise you, you will fall in love with Augustus Waters by the time you’ve finished reading the book or have seen the film. “It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you”. There is so much more to think book, than the Romeo and Juliet type story that the movie trailer makes it out to be. If you haven’t read the book, and are seeing the film expecting to see some crappy ‘chick flick’, more fool you. You WILL need tissues.

When I went to see this film at the cinema last week, there was not a dry eye in the room. I was still crying by the time I got home. It’s so hard to not mention spoilers, but this is a really hard hitting and incredibly powerful story (it is all fiction I should mention), and if you are not affected by it in some way or another, you have a heart of steal.

“It’s a metaphor, see: you put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don’t give it the power to do it’s killing.”
If you know someone with cancer, or someone who has died from cancer and are afraid that this story is going to be taking the mickey out of such illness, I can assure you it is not. Although this story does have some comedy moments, it was not created for that purpose and does give the up-most respect to cancer sufferers. I gave £4 to the Teenager Cancer trust that night. Although that doesn’t sound like much, a lot of people were giving coppers…. which isn’t much at all, but I guess it’s a step towards beating cancer! Image

If I haven’t persuaded you to either read the book or see the film, no worries, but if I have, you wont be disappointed.

“Okay?”, “Okay”.

SeaWorld belongs in the SEA!

Watching a programme about SeaWorld called “The Whale That Killed”. If you don’t know already, I am a massive animal lover, but my favourite animal doesn’t have fur. My favourite animal is in fact The Great White Shark. I am not a huge fan of Orca’s. I will post links to some programmes that you should definitely watch, if you are an animal lover or if you don’t agree with me or if you want to learn.

When I was younger my dream was actually become a Marine Biologist because I adore sharks, there is nothing more beautiful in our oceans than these massive creatures that are just… incredible! This might shock you just a little bit, but sharks don’t actually eat people. We are not associated with them as being food. Another thing, Jaws isn’t real. They are not mankillers. Of course I wouldn’t be too happy if one bit me, but if you are out surfing in a place known for shark activity, well… whose fault is it if you get bitten? You have to remember that the sea is their territory. It’s not ours. People forget this, and then blame the animal. Another thing I really hate, is when people get bitten by a shark they instantly go “A Great White Attacked Me!”. No. Sorry. Do research first. It was probably a bull shark or if you were out in the ocean far enough it was probably a white tip. Reason being, bull sharks are naturally aggressive, and it’s known they attack people more than Great White’s, and a white tip lives so far out there isn’t any food, so to see if something is edible they have to use their teeth, just like we do.

I think I’ll discuss Killer Whale’s first, because we should all be aware that they are probably one of the smartest animals on the planet. Smarter than us!
There is a reason why they are called “Killer Whales”. It is because of their killing nature. Have you seen them kill? Their attacks are unbelievable. As you should know, Orcas hunt in pods, which are made up of family members. So, if one Killer Whale discovers a knew way of killing, just by trial and error they can tell others how to kill and that is how they learn.
They also have emotions. All animals feel the same as we do. How would you like to be stuck in a prison all of your life and then performing to people just to get food. It’s barbaric!

Next, Great White Sharks. The most incredible animal, that I love so so much.  Their main diet is sea lions. You can actually go to a place in Mexico and swim with Great White Sharks without being in a cage. Of course that is dangerous, but you are going into their territory, but they shouldn’t want to attack you, because we are not food.

Want to know something incredible?
A Killer Whale killed a Great White Shark. How?
Sharks, if they are turned over on their backs go into a state of tonic immobility, which basically means they are paralyzed. It doesn’t hurt, they just can’t move. Researchers do this so that they can tag the animal etc. An Orca, swam up to a Great White and flipped it over onto it’s back and held it there for 15mins, which therefore killed the animal as it was basically suffocating. It then tore it apart and ate it. Killer Whales now know how to kill Great White’s because one Whale just gave it ago, and told others which told others which told others etc.
Want to know something else? Great White’s can smell their own dead. Which is so strong it can bring them out of tonic immobility and they basically get the fuck out of there as fast as they can.
When this attack happened, no Great White’s were seen near the area for over 10 years, and they disappeared within a few days!
This has happened several times, with the same effect. So what does that tell you?
The most feared predator of the ocean, killed by something which we hold in captivity for our own entertainment.

Aren’t we the most stupid animal on the planet? I think so.

SeaWorld is a cooperation which loves money. It is keeping Orca’s in captivity because we as a general public like seeing them perform. Yes, yes all very entertaining and clever.. well done.
Why don’t you think behind the performance? Why do they perform?
Because they are starved from having food. They only get given food then they do a trick… oh and the trick has to be correct, they can’t do it wrong. They are kept in a large fish tank basically. Have you seen the size of them? They are meant to be in the sea!
They are meant to be hunting and killing animals and living their life. Not jumping out of the water for a fish.
Then what happens when a Killer Whale decides to kill a trainer. Oh it’s the trainers fault. Oh it’s the animals fault.
NO IT’S NOT. It’s OUR fault!
We go and see these attractions because it gives us pleasure, we don’t think that the animal is actually suffering. They are frustrated, they are killing machines, they don’t just forget. I’m not suggesting the animal is evil, but haven’t you ever made the link between the name of an animal and what it is put on this earth to do?
Don’t stick it in a tank for fuck sake.

Killer Whale. Killer Whale. Killer Whale. KILLER!

Having a friend with Depression

Writing this because, my friends don’t understand what it is like to feel the way I do all the time. Every second, of every minute of everyday. To feel as if you are worth absolutely nothing, and there is no point to your existence. That you are just wasting space on the planet. To feel so lonely that you can’t bare to even be around yourself. To look in the mirror and feel as if you are trapped in someone else’s body, and you are just destroying their life. They do not understand how something so tiny, can set you back. How something so tiny can make you so angry and hate everyone. They do not understand how self harming is the only thing that can make you feel better. The thing is, you can’t just get over it. Depression lives inside of you. It’s there… waiting to cover the sunshine and a sheet of darkness so black that you feel trapped.

I was diagnosed with Depression when I was 16. I’m pretty sure I’ve had it all my life though, because I’ve always felt like nothing or at least been made to feel like nothing & it runs in the family. My Dad has depression and most of his relatives also have depression. Fun times, I know. I know how my Dad is feeling, because I feel the same way. People think he can be a right dickhead, even I think that, but I know why people think that, because I know how he feels and how things make him react a certain way. They may seem stupid to you, but to us, they make sense.

I actually have several cuts on my wrist when it was our year 11 prom. I was wearing a sleeveless dress too so I couldn’t hide them. I had to bare my scares to my entire year group, and my friends. Some saw them, some ignored them, and some said I was attention seeking and wanted to ruin everyone else’s experience.

I’ve also just been told that I treat everyone like shit. Yes, okay I do. Fair enough. Just ask yourself though, how would you feel if every single one of your friends said that they didn’t want to hang out with you, because staying inside was more fun than seeing me. I’ve lost loads of friends because they do not understand how my brain works, and when you try and explain… they ignore you and shoot back insults like “you are such a bad friend”.

Imagine this. Waking up and feeling positive. Then within a couple of seconds of you waking up, this feeling builds up, destroying that positivity and replacing it with thoughts such as “I am so worthless”, “I’m so pointless”, “I’m nothing, “I’m the biggest waste of space on this earth”, “I’m disgusting”, “I’m horrible”, “I shouldn’t be alive”, “no one cares about me”, and then have several people actually supporting those thoughts, so you now feel like “I wish I was dead”, instead of actually debating your existence, you actually just wish you didn’t exist. Because that is what it is like. You have to grow up and understand that!

If someone has depression, you have to go about things in a slightly different way, because chances are you will really upset them. That’s how my brain works anyway. You can’t start blaming them and accusing them of things and saying “I’ve been so patient with you. But you treat everyone like shit”. Maybe you should start asking them how they feel, what is wrong, what they can do to help. Try and make them laugh, see a brighter side. Don’t make sure that they stay in a state of depression for ever. That is being a shit friend.

Actually, I am a good friend, because I ask people to hang out and go and see shows and stuff all the bloody time, because whether they realise it or not, I actually WANT to see them and hang out with them, and all I get back is the most pitiful excuse such as “sorry, I much rather stay in bed”. IT’S SUNNY! You should be out at the beach or something, unless you are ill or something. Now we both have to wallow in our self pity because you can’t be bothered to see a friend, who you haven’t seen for months because you keep forgetting that they bloody exist! Yes, I am talking about two certain people here. I don’t care if they read and get offended because they are the worst friends I’ve ever had.

Finally, I will say: “sorry, if I have upset you or offended you when I am in a mood like this, but I do constantly feel like nothing, and when people give a reason to support that feeling, it just makes me feel a million times worse.”

Also, I’m sorry if you are a good friend, but I treat you like a bad friend. I do actually love you a lot. It’s just I don’t notice that until it’s too late. So if I am talking to you badly, just know I do love you really, it’s just me being me… so try and be funny to cheer me up.

I’m an 18 year old girl…. with nothing to show for it.

Catch up!

Thought I’d write a catch up blog because I haven’t posted for ages! And I have no ideas 😉

Well, from my last blog I have obviously turned 18! Woo!
My Mum stills me as her little baby, fair enough as I am the height of a 15 year old. However, I am allowed to do my own thing more, which is nice…. if I had loads of friends aha. In all seriousness I did go out a lot in Easter Half Term, which is a rarity for me! It was real good fun!
I saw my friends, Dan, Mathew, Charlotte and Connor.

Easter was proper good actually.
I went to Southampton with Dan and had a laugh, then Dan came round to mine on the Saturday to watch Shrek 2 and Avatar!
Also on Saturday, me and Mum went to Lush in Bournemouth to get some new earrings as I can switch them over now, exciting! We also went to Lush for ‘Save The Badgers’ ,which I signed twice. I got a few free shampoo samples too. I’ve tried one so far which was called “fair trade honey”, not overly keen on the smell or the stickiness, but it is amazing! My hair hasn’t gone static as per usual, and my hair is now super soft. Can’t wait to try the one.
On the Friday I met up with Mathew and ended up walking to Barton on Sea, which is quite a long walk! Was nice to see him again after falling out last year, over nothing aha. We also went to Costa Coffee. I love that place. Even though I don’t actually like coffee…
Sunday me and Mum went to Castle Point to get our Easter Eggs, and then went to Burger King, thought I’d introduce her to my new favourite fast food place! Then we went to Milford on Sea for an ice cream. Who remembers when a 99 actually mean’t 99p?
The next week, I met up with Connor on Tuesday, who I haven’t seen since…. year 10? We also walked to Barton on Sea! My poor feet. We also came to the conclusion that I am very small/tiny, and haven’t really grown since he last saw me. I remember when he was only and inch taller than me. I need to grow! We then went to the duck pond, and didn’t really do anything.
Wednesday, I helped my Dad buy a part for his motorbike on eBay. Then went to Boscombe to meet Charlotte and we headed to Bournemouth. So glad the weather was lovely the whole 2 weeks I was off. Got quite a few bits from Primark, including a Rolling Stones t-shirt with a pic from ‘Respectable’ on, along with a Rolling Stones onesie type thing, it looks like a dress basically but its shorts…. I also got some Stones knickers and also some Ramones ones. Was trying not to spend very much, epic fail! We then went to HMV I got two badges because one had Keith Richards favourite saying on “shit happens”, the other said “sex, drugs and sausage rolls”, I thought it was funny! I also re-arranged the badges so that a “I’m with stupid” badges was pointing at one of “Harry Styles”. We then went into Waterstones, and I found Jo Wood’s autobiography. I’ve read Ronnie’s and it was absolutely fantastic! So why not get Jo’s. We had a walk around Bournemouth Beach then Charlotte bought a lovely 60’s style dress from… Next? New Look? and we went back to the beach… then I bought a doughnut cos…. I needed one!
Thursday I hanged out with my Dad and we went looking for some soil for his chilli’s and then we went to a vintage shop literally round the corner from where I live called “Molly’s Den” and I bought an original 1966 Teenbeat book features my boys of course along with other great bands of the 60’s.
Looking forward to doing a few more activities with friends over the next coming weeks.

Oh also, before I forget to mention. I applied to work for BST Hyde Park because I love this festival so much, and literally couldn’t pic between which day I should attend. So I thought… why not work there? I didn’t expect to get anything… but…… I’ve been accepted! For two dates! The first one being McBusted…. and the second….. oooohhhh…. BLACK SABBATH! YES!

I’ve also decided on a career path. I would love to be a music journalist and found an amazing course at Solent University, so will be finishing off my A Levels next year in Media and English-Language and then shall hopefully be going there. Exciting!

Random, but I have found a passionate love for nutella! Caramel Latte’s and…. alcohol! Aaahh… I know I’ve always say “I don’t like alcohol” I also don’t actually get drunk… luckily. However, I do love music, and that seems to go really well with a glass of wine, or two…

Some new music I am in love with: The 1975 of course! Ah they are lovely. Mathew Healy is an absolute doll. I think I love him. No, they are really good! They are supposed to be an Indie/Alternative band…. you decide. I just like them. I saw them live you know. I also love John Newman! Isn’t he fantastic!

I’ve literally just gone back to Sixth Form, and have had to do a 12 hour photography exam. Already done 8 hours so only have 4 to go which isn’t too bad. It’s going well I guess.

In less good news, I have found myself starting to hit a brick wall again, which isn’t good. I only really noticed when I suddenly asked myself “do you think you are good enough for Ronnie Wood?” and for the first time ever, I thought “no”. I’ve been feeling like that a lot and I didn’t really notice that much until that moment. No one is better than you, or worth any more. No matter who they are, or what they are good at. Deep down we are all the same. For some reason, I just can’t see that lately. Sucks. However, I am trying to be a better version of me by attempting to lose some weight, and have more faith in myself, wear a little bit more make up, try new hair styles. Just trying to find a ‘me’ that I like and I hope others will too.

That’s about it really…. can’t think of anything else exciting happening in my life!

Thanks for reading!

My 18th Birthday!

I had to write a blog about my 18th! Was the best birthday I have ever had! I will post a link to the video at the end.

Me and Dad outside Chewton Glen

Me and Dad outside Chewton Glen

My birthday events started a day early, 28th March. Me and Dad made our way to Oxford to see my absolutely wonderful Suede at the O2 Academy. I adore Suede! I can’t explain how much I love Brett Anderson, and to be able to see them the day before my 18th…. just too awesome!

So, we headed to Oxford, but first called into Reading to visit my Dads bestie John who has recently moved in to a boat. He actually has a really nice boat, it would be awesome to live on one. Stare out your bedroom window and just see water and ducks swim by…. what a life ‘ey!

Onward bound to Oxford and it took us about half an hour to try and find a parking space near the venue. What a hell ride.
I don’t like Oxford. Haven’t been there since I moved to the New Forest 5years ago, as I used to live in Didcot.
We eventually managed to park in the hospital car park and just hope that we didn’t get clamped.

We were literally on the dot for the doors being opened, but being Suede… there was already a long queue. We got in! But the front was taken by loads of people 6ft tall… much to my disadvantage. So now we just had to fight to stay where we were. For another hour.
There were a ‘couple’ stood in front of us, completely snogging the soul out of each other… think tonsil tennis is an appropriate term, when the guy decided to go and get a drink. 10mins later the girl turns around and says to someone close “can you save my place please. I’ve only just met this guy but I like him a lot”…. and I’m just like… I’m doing this dating thing completely wrong haha.
About 2mins before the band were due to start, some drunken dickhead lad decides he can walk through people and just pushes everyone out the way, it wasn’t like a polite thing… it was like he thought he could physically walk through people!
One guy turned round and said “what are you doing? We’re stood here” and told me to get in the gap because we were here first and he’s pushing in and it’s not fair because he’s taller than me.

So… here they come… SUEDE!!!
Came out playing Introducing The Band, We are the Pigs, Heroine and Wild Ones… which was all beautiful, and I was already captivated by how wonderful Brett Anderson is.. when suddenly… they started playing New Generation!
I felt this massive push, and I almost fell over, then that guy I mentioned earlier who thought he could walk through walls decided to push me and start jumping… and another guy thought to do the same thing! So I fell over -_-
Luckily my Dad wasn’t far behind and managed to drag us both out to a safer spot!
Was shaken up… is quite scary going to a Suede gig when you’re as tiny as I am!
However, I still had a good time, I got to see my favourite live band and 2nd favourite band in the entire world, and just hungrily stare at Brett Anderson. My lover! Jokes! 😉
They finished off playing a blistering 2nd set including Animal Nitrate, So Young, Metal Mickey and of course Beautiful Ones.

We finished our night off by my Dad treating me to my first ever Burger King!

Next day, my actual 18th Birthday, 29th March was absolutely just as amazing!
I had my hair cut, I really needed my fringe done. I’m growing my hair long though, cos I’m just too cool. Haha.
I opened a present from my Nan which was a baby book she made which was really cute! I looked like a monkey when I was a baby… with an orangutan or something haha.

Next, 3pm, we headed to Chewton Glen! Which is an extremely posh hotel in the New Forest where extremely posh people and celebrities stay or go to have afternoon tea. So I couldn’t exactly go in there sporting a Rolling Stones t-shirt, so decided to dress up as if I’m attending the Royal Wedding instead.
I had a glass of champagne, costing only just £10!
We all had An Afternoon Tea… which was basically a selection of sandwiches, scones and a cake selection.
Everything was absolutely delicious! Like exquisitely delicious. The scones were divine, the best I have ever had and the cakes.. oh the cakes, the passion fruit cake was like eating a solero icecream, in cake form!
Me and Dad and a stroll around the grounds afterwards and Mum bought me a Chewton Glen teddy.

We had to rush home as I had to get ready for my night out with my friends Sophie and Dan, at Mr.Kyps seeing The Great Pretender, Queen Tribute.
Dan came to mine, and then my Mum drive us to One Stop so we could meet up with our driver Sam and Sophie.

Again, we got to the venue on the dot! Got right to the front this time, and just had to wait and hour and a half for the fun to begin!
The band however was absolutely fantastic, I had such a great night, I really enjoyed myself.
I recommend any Queen fan to go and see this tribute band, because they are just so awesome and the atmosphere was pretty amazing as well. I’m pretty sure Sam, Sophie and Dan all enjoyed it, just as much as I did! Me and the guy who plays Freddie had a look of fun, with eye contact and singing and playing up to each other… Freddie in a dress! Absolute highlight! Even the hoover and feather duster made an appearance.
They played a selection of hits as well as songs for more die-hard fans, which is brilliant of a Tribute band to do. Every member of the band seemed to be having fun and enjoying the night, which is what a band should be like… as that amazing gig feeling bounces from the stage to the audience creating an amazing atmosphere.
Embarrassing moment of the gig: My mate Dan deciding to dispose of his chewing gum on the venue’s floor, for muggings here to stand on and ruin her lovely new shoes she got for her birthday. No luck getting the gum off… hope I have a receipt! (I apologise to my favourite venue for such disrespectful behavior!)
Also got winked at by a 40-year-old woman…. this is a new experience!
Been the first birthday I can actually say…. felt like it was my birthday! 🙂

Thank you to everyone who said happy birthday to me – and thank you to Mark who sent me some beautiful flowers and a teddy! 🙂

5 bands/artists of Today that are worth listening to.

I think that I have pretty decent taste in music, so I think I know a good band when I hear one. Trust me. I’m a classic rock fan. If you’re looking for some good music to enjoy that is modern, but can’t stand One Direction or Little Mix…. you’ve come to the right place!

1.John Newman

John Newman

John Newman

I actually really like John Newman. He is definitely worth checking out. He was nominated for Best British Male at the 2014 Brit Awards. Of Course Mr.David Bowie won that award. John Newman, was definitely worthy to be a candidate though.
I saw this pretty boy mover on the Royal Variety Performance, and was instantly struck by his awesomeness. Look at his little feet go! Plus he is quite attractive, and his voice is gorgeous. Everyone knows ‘Love Me Again’, it’s everywhere! I just didn’t know who sang it. When John Newman came out… I was like “wow, this guy is good and just makes this whole song!”. He’s got the look. He’s got the voice. He’s got the moves. He’s got the creativity. He may fizzle out, you never know… he was even on Jools Holland for New Year. So he’s got to be something special! And trust me… HE IS!
I just love this guy. I think he definitely does stand out from the musicians that we are surrounded by today.
Of course, I only like the best! My music tastes are very high… except on occasions.
(weird fact: there’s a boy at my school that looks exactly like David Bowie, John Newman looks just like that boy!…weird….)

2. The 1975

The 1975

The 1975

I’ve actually seen these boys live! In Hyde Park. Supporting The Rolling Stones. I know, awesome right?
I knew then, that they were good. My Dad would disagree. Admittedly I did actually dance a little to their music, while in Hyde Park, and deffinitely thought the lead singer was a good bit of eye candy – turns out he’s Denise Welch’s son. I believe his name is Matthew Healy. Only thing I do have an issue with is how they label themselves “Alternative Rock/Indie Pop” No. Just no. It’s neither rock or pop, and they need to work on the whole alternative/indie thing. Just because you’re all ‘monochrome & synthesizers’ doesn’t make you belong to that genre – unless times have changed since Suede and Oasis then fine!
They are a great band though! Despite me being picky, I do recommend them if you do like indie/alternative genre’s of music because they are not bad. All their songs have a really good rhythm that you can have a little bit of a bop to if you wanted. They are catchy as well. They’re not for everyone though. My Dad didn’t like them because of all the synthesized stuff, which is fair enough.
(fact: Mick Jagger actually stood by the side of the stage while they played to watch them. He approves. So therefore they must be good).

3. Jake Bugg

Jake Bugg

Jake Bugg

I’ve also seen this lad live. In Hyde Park. Supporting The Rolling Stones. I know, I’m just too cool man!
I do actually have mixed opinions about this guy.I have never disproved Jake Bugg, because unlike some, this chappy is so different that he is going to last without fizzling out. A friend of mine hates Jake Bugg because of his voice. That offends me because this guy is pretty much Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Marc Bolan rolled into one. If you like any of them, this guy if for you. He also writes his own songs, which is a rarity nowadays. Bugg was also nominated for Best British Male at the 2014 Brit Awards. I respect Jake Bugg 100% because he is absolutely brilliant at what he does, and these times no one really gets appreciated enough if they are not a member of 1D. So, whoever you are, you HAVE to check out Jake Bugg. He’s the only artist on here, I think that everyone should give a listen and take something from it. Anything but hate. Even if you don’t like his music, go away thinking “yeah, he is good at what he does”, because that is what he deserves. I love Bugg’s voice. I’m not saying he’s the new Marc Bolan or anything… but come on…. where else have you heard a voice like his?
(don’t forget. I know a good/decent artist when I hear one and see one live)

4. Vintage Trouble

VintageTrouble1

Vintage Trouble

Again, I have seen these dudes live. In Hyde Park. Supporting The Rolling Stones. I think we get the idea that they have to be good to be supporting The Stones. In Hyde Park!
These were the first guys to come out, and we’d all be baking in the sun for a good couple of hours, and they came out in suites singing ‘Pelvis Pusher’ and everyone was instantly like “oooohhhh”. 1950’s comes to mind. The music probably isn’t, but they are definitely inspired by blues. The frontman is one epic guy! He can captivate an audience for sure. My Dad loved these guys a lot. These guys need to be more known, because they ARE SO GOOD! They are so not today’s typical music, which makes them brilliant! It’s like living in a different timezone, listening to their music. They’ve also supported Chuck Berry. Chuck Berry!!
Actually, if you like Chuck Berry… check ’em out, because they’re not far off to be honest, just modernized. They are certainly inspired by him, I’m sure.
Go on, give them a listen! They deserve it.

5. The Vamps

The Vamps

The Vamps

I’ve seen these boys live! Supporting McFly! In Bournemouth.
I know what you’re all thinking… why have I put some cute looking boys in here.
I was the same! When I saw them I was like “eugh, it’s One Direction! But they can play instruments!”.
They are actually all right. If they stop covering typical bands of today, they will go even further than they already have in such a short space of time.
Plus, I have a thing for Jame McVey! Hehehe. He’s from Sandbanks in Poole ya’ know 😀
In all seriousness, these boys really are good. They write their own songs and cover, but their covers are really good. My Dad rather likes their Teenage Kicks.
They are really good. I’ll link some Jame McVey solo stuff as well.
I don’t really know what else to say apart from they are worthy giving a listen to for a few minutes. They may fizzle out, but so far, they are coming in like a storm! They’ve become so popular lately. They are also supporting McBusted in Hyde Park this year. BST festival (brill festival).
Yes, they are quite a girly band, but everyone likes a girly band just once! But they generally are talented people, they can actually play their instruments, and play them live.

Sexuality and Discrimination

Why am I writing this? Because I’ve just seen a very immature post, and it’s annoyed me, because I don’t like immature people that can’t respect or accept people. This blog will link in with another blog of mine titled “Immature and Stupid people (plus descriptive words)”, if you are immature and stupid, give it a read. I’ll put a link at the end of this blog.

SEXUALITY!
There’s lots of different types.
There’s Heterosexual – meaning you are attracted to people of the opposite gender to you.
There’s Homosexual – meaning you are attracted to the same gender.
There’s Bisexual – meaning you are attracted to both males and females.
But there’s one more type of sexuality… well it’s not a sexuality. It’s called being an prick. (excuse my french)
Being an prick means that you can’t accept people who are different to you. For example; if you are a straight person – you discriminate gays and bisexual’s because they are not like you. That is called BULLY.
And I hate bullies.

If you are going to bully people because of their sexuality, you can’t be my friend, because it is absolutely disgusting and makes you look like an idiot.
For example; if someone discriminates against you, for example; saying you’re homosexual and you are not, and then you bully someone who is in fact homosexual, you are pathetic. You are the lowest low life there is.
I don’t care if I offend anyone because that is how I feel. If you have ever been called ‘gay’ and got all upset because you are NOT ‘gay’, then tormentated someone who is actually ‘gay’, what kind of a person are you?

So bloody what!
I don’t give a flying f*ck if someone likes girls, boys or a bit of both. Why? Because I’m not a loser.
It’s disgusting. It’s… it’s just wrong.
If you don’t like being bullied, why do it to someone else!
I’ve been bullied a lot… and I’ve never done it to someone else, because I don’t hate myself so much I have to take it out on someone else. I’m not perfect, I know that, but I’m very happy with the person that I am now, and it’s taken me a long time to realize that. I think you are really tragic if you are being bullied, complain about it, and do it to someone else.

Take a good long look in the mirror. Are you happy with you are?
Do people like you? Think about why they don’t like you? Why not change it.

Back to sexuality. We are now in a modern age, where you don’t get put in a concentration camp for being attracted to someone of the same gender, or hanged, or shot, or even put in prison. They still did that in the 70’s you know. People used to go on hunts, and hunt gay men and woman and beat them up so badly they would probably of ended up in hospital. We are now in the 21st century where this kind of thing is much more accepted. So, if you still can’t accept someone’s sexuality. You are ignorant.

How many homosexuals do you see sneering at or bullying heterosexuals? NONE. Why? Because they are decent people. People don’t give a damn who you are in love with, because it is none of their business.
If you don’t like something, why get involved in it? Simple as that.

It’s like someone hating chocolate because it has a high sugar content, and then bullying everyone who eats it. What’s the point exactly? What do you achieve? Apart from proving you are in fact an immature prick.

I’m going to post a picture of a very much loved man, who I think is a genius, as do many others, who died sadly from AIDS. He liked both genders, and he created some of the best music this world has ever heard. So if you are going to discriminate people, just take a look at the influential man I post and think “why am I being like this? Is it right?”.

I love plenty of people who are gay, for example; Adam Lambert, Boy George, Marilyn, Heather Peace and many other’s that I can’t think of right now. I’m only jealous at the fact that all the men I listed can do their make-up a million times better than me!

I also totally ship Dick Bagger! What’s that? Mick Jagger and David Bowie, as they supposedly had a sexual relationship back in the day. I personally don’t believe it, but they were such a cute pair! They do love each other very much I think. Not as much as the Jagger & Richards relationship though.

Again, I will say, if you discriminate against any sexuality and you yourself don’t like being identified incorrectly. We can’t be friends.
I only like people who are mature enough not to act like pricks 😉

A Moment Of Pride

I am so proud to in a such a wonderful, respectful and loving fandom. I’ve seen so many touching messages left for Mick, and not one person has complained about the tour being cancelled. I think Stones fans are the best people out there. We love our boys and will always always be there for them no matter what.

I absolutely love the fact that I am a fan of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world.
When I was a kid (as I have adored them since I was 6 years old), everyone thought I was weird because I liked this really old band! However, I have grown up listening to this bands music every single day, and I used to sit at the table at night, with my little CD player on playing their ‘Jump Back’ album, and read books about them and just soak up as much information as I could. I literally studied them.
On a Sunday when Mum was doing the ironing upstairs, I would put The Bridges of Babylon DVD on and dance around the living room. I used to do costume changes as well, whenever Mick changed, so would I. I would copy his every move as well.
On Saturday we used to put on Stones songs and Dad would play guitar to them while I sang!

Growing up being a fan was very hard. My Nan always told me that they are a bad influence. My cousins used to bully me badly, and one of them said that she hopes they all die because they are so disgusting and vile and don’t deserve to be on the planet – she met Ronnie Wood. She also disowned me because I made a new Facebook account. Yes, my family are more weird than I am. They look at me as if I’m a peasant, but we all know that’s not true!

I have never abandoned my love for The Rolling Stones, not ever! I will worship them for infinity!
Everyone is most familiar with my admiration for Ronnie Wood, but when it comes down to it, Mick Jagger is my ultimate idol. I’ve seen the band live, and there was not a moment when I took my eyes off him, I was in absolute owe of how amazing he is.

I feel so honored and proud to be apart of a fan base where everyone is supporting Mick in a time of need, and not one person has complained about concerts being postponed because they just want to know that Mick is alright.
I have complete faith in the boys that they will still play the postponed shows later in the year.

I read last night on Instagram than someone just feels so sad because they want to give Jagger a big hug and tell him everything is going to be alright. I feel exactly the same. When I heard the news of L’Wren’s passing, I immediately said “I just want to give Mick a big cuddle, and be there to support him whatever way possible”. It is amazing how beautiful our love the band is.

I love all of my followers on Instagram, because we are all Stones fans, and for the first time ever I feel appreciated.
It’s taken me time to release that I will be alright in myself, as long as I still have my boys.

Stay strong Mick! Image
